“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. Isaiah 55:8

Sunday, September 20th I had tickets to fly from Indianapolis to Bangui and I was looking forward to heading back to Bangui for a week.  As the verse above says, my ways are not always God’s ways and my trip has been postponed until next year as I will be having a laparoscopy hysterectomy on Thursday, September 24th.  So instead of using my vacation time for a trip to Africa I will be recovering from surgery.

Pray that surgery will go and that I will not overdo it as I heal.

As I recover from surgery I would like to take some time each day to study for the state exam to be a certified Medical Assistant.  I have several books that I am looking forward to reading and Bible Study Fellowship has started again so I will have my daily homework to keep up with.  Since I won’t be able to drive for several weeks I’ve gotten rides set up so I can continue to attend Bible Study Fellowship and Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace course as I feel up to it.

Pray that I would use my time well as I recovery from surgery and will know how much to do and will take time to rest as I recover.

I could be off of work for up to four weeks and I currently have three weeks of vacation and one day paid time off that I can use to cover this.  I’m hoping I will be able to return to work part time during the third week but will have to wait and see how I feel.

Pray that I will have wisdom on knowing when to return to work.

A few other items of praise or prayer…

The Central Africa Republic is getting ready to hold elections so please join me in praying that elections will go well and for the future new president.

My mom’s health is stable.  We are currently trying to find a new bed for her as her present bed is too high which makes it hard for her to get into bed.

My new position at work is going well and I love getting off work at the same time each day or almost the same time each day.

Have a great day and let me know how I can pray for you.
